What or Who are Columbus Indiana Dog Park Association?

CIDPA is a 501 (c) 3 not for profit group of dedicated volunteers with the common goal of opening a dog park in Columbus.
Our purpose, in the Columbus Dog Park, is as much to fulfill the needs of our dogs as well as humans: a safe place for our dogs to run and play off-leash, developing new friendships with other dog owners , and another important avenue to help retain a sense
of community.
What is a dog park you ask?
A Dog Park, or Off-Leash Recreation Area (OLRA), is a fenced, designated area where dogs may legally run, play and socialize with each other "off-leash" under the supervision and voice control of their owners.
What are the benefits of a community dog park?
- Socializes and exercises dogs in a safe environment
- Promotes responsible pet ownership
- Enables dogs to legally run off-leash
- Promotes public health and safety
- Provides a valuable tool for realistic enforcement of dog control laws
Where will the dog park be?
Our goal is to turn an under used piece of land, Clifty Woods, into an official city off-leash dog park. Bringing the community closer together with one thing in common, the love for their dogs.
Where are we? or What is the status of the dog park?
We are in full-time fundrasing mode! No taxpayer dollars will be used to build or maintain the park, therefore fundraising is the most critical activity we are involved in.
How much will it take to open the park?
We need approximately $30,000 to open the park. We have raised $7000 to date.
